About the event

This session is for adults aged 18+.

Walking with poles is an activity which can be suited and adapted to all abilities and levels.  By using poles when you walk, you get more stability, a better all over body work out and also the chance to chat with new friends as you explore the most amazing places in your local area.

This activity offers extra support for those who have problems with balance or coordination, and also offering a way of walking whilst managing chronic pain.

What you'll get from this session:

  • The chance to try a new physical activity without any commitment to sign up for more
  • Basic tuition in nordic walking from a highly experienced local Nordic Walking instructor
  • Unique insights into the heritage of Leavesden Park and the magic of the trees there
  • The opportunity to meet like minded others
  • A chance to consider joining an established local network of Nordic Walkers, offering multiple health benefits and social opportunities

The ticket price of £10 per person is set so that Green Connections is able to reinvest money into providing programmes that will benefit our community and its individual residents, helping to reduce social isolation & loneliness whilst re-connecting to nature for physical and mental wellbeing.

HOWEVER, we don't want money to be a barrier, so please don't hesitate to call us on 07931 084159 to discuss a subsidized place on this session.

We are supported by National Lottery Community together with Hertsmere Borough Council and Watford & Three Rivers Trust.
