About the event

Purpose of the focus group session

The purpose of the session is to inform the design and delivery of a nature based rehabilitation programme called 'Breath of Fresh Air'.

'Breath of Fresh Air' is a 3 month program offering a mix of outdoor and zoom sessions (supplemented by postal activity boxes).  The sessions are designed and led by an occupational therapist with consideration to individual needs and abilities.

Together with regular interactive postal boxes sent directly to participants,  sesssions include:

-An online introduction to birds

-An outdoor mindful bird walk

-An online writing for wellbeing session

- A guided sensory tour of a local outdoor heritage space

To ensure that the programme is relevant and beneficial to a diverse range of participants, I'll be asking you to discuss the following topics:

Feedback and thoughts about the 'Breath of Fresh Air' sessions

Your feedback on some 'Breath of Fresh Air' themed sessions (information to be provided before focus session along with a short online demonstration).

Your experience of working with BAME patients or clients

Your experience of working with BAME patients or clients currently and throughout the pandemic. What health, social and economic concerns and issues are being experienced specifically by these communities and how can nature based interventions alleviate these?

Please don't hesitate to email me directly if you'd like to ask me any questions or offer any thoughts. If you'd like to get more of a flavour of what Green Connections offers, please feel free to look at our website at www.greenconnections.co.uk.

With thanks and best wishes
